Prize List for the 2020 USHJA Digital Pony Challenge Powered by DigitalHorseShow.com

Show dates: Entries Open August 14 at 8 a.m. ET

Show Information: Each entry will upload videos of their best rounds over fences from any horse show and upload videos of under saddle and model. Any rider eligible to show in respective pony divisions under USEF rules are allowed to enter. Riders are not allowed to cross enter between the Children’s Pony and rated Pony Hunter divisions.

Division championships and reserve championships will be awarded in the Small Pony, Medium Pony, Large Pony, Small Green, Medium Green, Large Green, Small/Medium Children’s Pony, and Large Children’s Pony divisions, with class percentages as: over fences – 50%, under saddle – 35%, model – 15%. Ponies must be entered and upload videos for every class in the division to be eligible for a championship. Grand Champions will be awarded for the Pony Challenge (highest point total of Small, Medium, Large), Green Pony, and Children’s Pony divisions. Ties will be broken by most points over fences, then highest score under saddle, then highest score in the model.

Ribbons will be awarded to the top 10 in every regular competition class. The top three will be awarded in the Playful Pony Pranks, Costume Class, and Pony Hunt Teams.

Cost:

Full competition package (per pony): one (1) hunter division, one (1) equitation class, pony derby, and Review My Ride = $150 (a $95 savings)

Hunter division (per pony): over fences, under saddle, model = $75 (a $30 savings)

Per class (per pony): $35

Classes

Pony Hunter Challenge

Small Pony Model – Each entry will upload a video of the rider modeling their pony. The model will be judged on how the rider presents their pony. See example video for format.

Small Pony Under Saddle – Each entry will upload a video of the pony working individually under saddle. The pony will walk, then trot one lap of the ring, canter one lap of the ring, walk, and reverse. Then trot one lap of the ring, canter one lap of the ring and halt. Then walk forward on a loose rein.

Small Pony Over Fences – Each entry will upload a video of a round they jumped in the respective pony section from any show held within the last 12 months.

Open to riders showing a Small, Medium, or Large pony over an equitation course at the appropriate fence height (Small 2’3”, Medium 2’6”, Large 3’). Rider should upload a video of an equitation round from any show held within the last 12 months.

Children’s Pony Hunter

Open to riders showing a Small, Medium, or Large pony over an equitation course at the appropriate fence height. Small and Medium Ponies jump 2’ and Large Ponies jump 2’6”. Rider should upload a video of an equitation round from any show held within the last 12 months.

Special Classes

FREE – Playful Pony Pranks – Upload a video of the pony performing any pony trick or trick that the rider and pony perform together.

FREE – Costume Class – Upload a video of the rider and/or pony in costume. Let your imagination run wild!

FREE – Pony Hunt Teams – Open to teams of three riders and ponies. Video should include the team jumping a hunt team-type course ending with three riders jumping the last fence in unison.

Review My Ride – Upload a video of a jumping round where you had a problem and let our expert judge, Patricia Griffith, give you tips to help you learn and improve your performance.
